If you are looking to find beachfront flats to rent in Strand in the Western Cape, there are many property websites who will have a range of options for you in this beautiful coastal town.
About Strand
The Strand was founded in 1714 as a small fishing village. Strand is a seaside town on the edge of False Bay and at the foot of the Hottentots Holland Mountains. It is a seaside resort town known for attracting tourists and those wanting to retire to a beautiful, relaxed area where they can catch their breaths. It is only 50 kilometres south east of Cape Town and is also very close to Gordon’s Bay. It boasts a population of 50 000 people and five kilometres of beautiful beach.
These five kilometres are topped by beachfront accommodation including flats, hotels and cottages. The sea along the Strand is known for being one of the safest swimming and seaside activity beaches in the Western Cape. Surfing is one of the most popular sports at the Strand due to the numerous surfing spots, the great breaks and the safety of the water. There have been many shark sightings over the years, but the last shark attack was over 90 years ago.
The Strand also has a central business district with banks, shopping malls, restaurants and supermarkets. There are several suburbs surrounding the central business district including Strandvale, Die Bos, Goedehoop, Twin Palms and Melkbaai. There are several primary and high schools as well as one tertiary institute: the Boland College.
The Strand is a beautiful little town with much to offer both new residents and tourists alike.
Beach road property
If you are looking to rent a beach side flat in the Strand as holiday accommodation or for a longer period, you should take your time in finding the right place that suits all your needs and wants. If you are looking for holiday accommodation, visit tourism pages and view recommendations from other tourists who have staying in the flats that you are interested in. It is always good to have other, past customers’ opinions before you make your decision.
If you are looking for a more permanent rental, it is even more imperative that you make the right choice. You will undoubtedly be tied into a lease for as long as a year once you have signed your lease and you do not want to realise a few months or weeks down the line that the flat is not suitable for you and your family. Find out the following about every property you view in your search for the right rental:
- The age of the property
- Why the previous tenants left
- Get the plumbing and wiring checked out by a professional (if repairs are going to be your responsibility) to ensure that they are in working order
- Is there a security system in place and if so, does it work?
- Is there a satellite for you to put in DSTV or Top TV if you are so inclined?
- Are the amenities in good working order and not falling apart?
- Is the house cool enough in summer and warm enough in winter?
Beyond all the above, the position of the apartment, the safety of the area, the neighbours, the rules about pets and the price and what it includes are all important factors to be clear on.
