Somerset mall is located close to the N2 highway in the lower lying area of Somerset West and not far from Strand beach. Jewellery shops, pet shops, book shops and so much more exist within the centre and anchor stores include Woolworths, Pick and Pay, Game and Edgars amongst others. This is a very popular shopping centre within the heart of the Cape Winelands and a place that people often travel from Stellenbosch, Paarl and Grabouw to shop at. It has more than doubled in size since it first opened and continues to be successful as the Helderberg region quickly develops around it.
Opening times of shops at Somerset Mall at the time of writing are Monday to Saturday 09:00 – 18:00 with Sunday’s and public holidays being 09:00 – 16:00. This can vary from one store to another and Christmas shopping hours are extended every year. For those not going to do their shopping there are other things to do inside including a visit to the Ster Kinekor movies to see the latest blockbuster movie. Or try your hand at ten-pin bowling at the ‘Let’s Go Bowling’ alley in the entertainment area of the centre.
There is a good sprinkling of quaint coffee shops, restaurants, take away food establishments, a game arcade and activities for children and lots more besides at this popular mall. Stuttafords, Exclusive Books, Music Moods and Incredible Connection are among some of the favourite stores to visit. Ample parking is available although on busy public holidays, weekends and especially around the Christmas period it is wise to get their early in order to park your car within a reasonable walking distance.
